Virgin Island fans can expect some 'mind-blowing' scenes coming soon.

The hit Channel 4 reality series is currently in the midst of its second season with two episodes having aired so far. The show sends 12 virgins off to a luxury retreat in Croatia where they learn all about intimacy guided by sex and relationship experts.

The very first episode centred around shame, while the second focussed on turn ons . Tuesday's instalment (April 28) saw an emotional exchange between 22-year-old participant Joy who was guided to explore what aroused her with sexological bodyworker, Ilil Lunkry, and let go of her feelings of shame around masturbation.

"Thank you very much for giving me this experience, it's such a precious feeling, really special," Joy said through tears. It was one of just a number of breakthroughs had by the young cast so far in the series - and according to the show's leading experts Dr Danielle Harel and Celeste Hirschman, there is much more to come.

Speaking with the Mirror after the first two episodes aired, Celeste shared: "They’re so brave, they’re really jumping in in this season. I think because they have the foundation of seeing last season.

"Obviously Bertie’s transformation is unbelievable, Joy is amazing. But you know, again we’re talking about the first couple of sessions, and just wait and see what happens with everyone. It’s mind-blowing."

Danielle added: "We had time away from them [after filming] and we didn't have any opportunities to see them because they weren't online, but if you see them on TikTok now you're just like 'Oh wow.' The confidence, the moving in the body...

"They're able to banter around it when before they were so shut down, which I think is just a testament to how profound the change is."

Viewers awaiting their next fix are facing a bit of a wait as the series airs just twice a week on Monday and Tuesdays from 9pm. This means the next episode will air on May 4.

This year, Virgin Island will have an extended run. While last year's series had just six episodes, there will be eight making up Season 2 which are all an hour long. The episode release schedule is as follows:

Episodes are added to Channel 4's catch-up service after broadcast for fans to watch at their leisure.

Virgin Island airs Monday and Tuesday nights from 9pm on Channel 4.
