Emergency services at scene of ‘incident’ along Cambs A-road - live updates

The crash involved a car and motorbike, and the motorbike rider sustained serious injuries. He has been taken to hospital.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called at about 7.30am today (30 April) with reports of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Fishers Lane, Orwell.

"Emergency services attended the scene, which was close to the junction with the A603. The motorcyclist received serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and he was taken to hospital for treatment."

The road reopened just before 10am. Traffic monitoring site Inrix said: "A603 in both directions re-opened, traffic returned to normal, earlier incident from Hurdleditch Road ( Orwell ) to A1198 Ermine Way (New Wimpole)."

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue and the East of England Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.

The A603 is blocked in both directions between Hurdleditch Road at Orwell to the A1198 Ermine Way in New Wimpole. This is resulting in slow traffic along the road.
