Teen charged over Hamilton 'murder bid hit and run' that left two cops in hospital

The 18-year-old male will appear in court on Thursday April 30 after the incident in Hamilton.
A teenage boy has been charged in connection with attempted murder after an alleged hit and run in Hamilton that left two police officers in hospital. Emergency services raced to the incident on the South Lanarkshire town's Fleming Way at 9.30am on Tuesday, April 28.
Police say officers approached and spoke to the driver and passenger of a car on the street. An officer was injured as the vehicle attempted to flee.
The car was then involved in a collision with a stationery vehicle a short distance away. The 22-year-old male passenger and two officers were injured in the collision .

Both were rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the 18-year-old male driver left the scene and was later traced.
He has now been arrested in connection with attempted murder. He will appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Thursday, April 30.
Images taken from the scene show a number of police vehicles in the aftermath of the incident . A black car was also pictured smashed beside nearby homes, with the back of a white car also c rumpled.
An eyewitness said a police helicopter had been dispatched to the scene during the ordeal.
A statement from Police Scotland said: "An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with attempted murder and road traffic offences in Hamilton . The incident happened around 9.30am on Tuesday, 28 April, when officers approached and spoke to the occupants of a car on Fleming Way.
"The car made off and was involved in a collision with a stationery vehicle. Two officers and a 22-year-old man, the passenger, were injured during the incident and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
"The 18-year-old man, the driver, left the scene but was traced and arrested. He has now been charged and is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Thursday, 30 April."
