New M&S £45 dress is perfect for summer weddings and 'selling fast

Having just arrived on the brand's website, the Lyocell Blend V-Neck Midi Waisted Dress, £45, is such a pretty frock that screams springtime thanks to its colourway option: sky blue (named Light Wedgewood) and butter yellow. Available in sizes six to 18, the dress comes in three different lengths to cater for all sizes - petite, regular and tall and is sure to be a sellout for summer garden parties.

Made from a combination of 42% lyocell, 40% polyester, 15% polyamide, 2% cotton and 1% elastane, the dress is likely to be lightweight and, thanks to its A-line shape, floaty - good for hot weather. What's unique about this dress is that its ruffles on the V-shape bodice (which has some stretch) give it a layered peplum look that makes onlookers question whether it's a co-ord or all-in-one.

Its flattering waisted shape, cinched in with two waist ties (one at the waist and one below the bust), is romantic and feminine and is finished off with delicately puffed sleeves. Adding to the look, the dress has an almost seersucker texture that oozes cottage core and would look adorable with a straw hat, a wicker bag and pumps.

Although the Lyocell Blend V-Neck Midi Waisted Dress from Marks and Spencer is labelled on the website as 'selling fast'. And it's easy to see why.

With its flattering silhouette and soft makeup, it's a lovely option that can easily be dressed up or down and, at £45, is pretty affordable. Pair with some heels and statement jewellery for a spring time wedding, or with some sandals and a denim jacket for something more low key. It's one of those easy pieces that can be thrown on last minute and look good.

Being a new addition to the website, the dress hasn't received any reviews as yet, and the only thing we can think to be mindful of is the V-neck. If it's too low for some, a plunge bra - like this from Boux Avenue - may be best to ensure ample support without ruining the look.
