Beverley Callard has shared a candid health update, admitting she was left “wiped out” by the I'm A Celebrity final .

The Coronation Street actress is bravely sharing her breast cancer journey with her followers, after announcing her diagnosis in February.

Her medical journey started after she was required to leave I’m A Celebrity… South Africa last year, while filming the All Stars series alongside the likes of Gemma Collins and Scarlett Moffatt .

She left the programme early after becoming unwell, with producers informing her she needed to depart for health reasons, and Beverley later explaining that she had lost consciousness in the camp but didn’t know then that she had cancer.

In the days leading up to the live final, Beverley revealed she wouldn’t be able to attend and was “absolutely gutted”, saying: "I was dying to see them all, and it would have been brilliant.”

Having missed out on the explosive event, which saw Adam Thomas crowned winner after a feud with Jimmy Bullard and David Haye erupted, Beverley has now shared an update on social media.

She said: "I've not posted for a few days because I stayed up really late on Friday night, well late for me, because I had to do a Zoom for the I'm A Celeb final, which was a great talking point.

"The internet went down half way through so I didn't finish. Put loads of make-up on and stuck my eyelashes on and did all that and it was hardly worth it, but never mind.

“I was late to bed and I was wiped for days, absolutely wiped - does anyone else feel like that with one late night? Is that what cancer does to you sometimes? I don’t know.

“I'm still waiting for my results which I hope to get Thursday because that will be two weeks. I'm trying, I'm trying. Thank you for all your messages."

She added in the caption: “Haven’t posted for a couple of days… I’ve been totally wiped out! I guess this is normal but one late night and I’m out of action for days.”

Beverley was showered in support in the comments, with one person writing: “Rest is recovery. Sending lots of love,” as another said: “Stay strong lovely lady & go with what your body is telling you.”

This comes after Beverley tearfully revealed that her I’m A Celebrity exit marked the start of her cancer journey.

Following the broadcast of her departure on the ITV programme, she revealed: "I just watched my exit on I'm A Celeb and it made me cry all over again. Of course, I didn't know then that I had cancer but I just knew that it was the last couple of days there that I hadn't felt very well."

She continued: "What happened was, I was called into the Bush Telegraph and apparently, I lost consciousness for a little while... I just wasn't feeling myself. They took me to a medical hut and they were amazing; they really looked after me and then they said you can't go back.

"And I said 'don't send me home, I'm sure I'll be fine'."

She continued: "I wanted to succeed and make it through to the end but that was the start of everything. It's made me really emotional but I will beat this. I will beat it."

Days before the final on the pre-recorded show, Beverley informed her fellow campmates of her exit. Gathering them together, she tearfully announced: "Hi guys, I've just got something to tell you all.

"I didn't feel very well this morning... and the medics have advised I can't return to camp. I've got to go home. I don't want to go. I'm absolutely gutted. I wanted to finish."

She revealed she "had a funny turn and they've said I can't come back in and I've got to go out. I don't want to go. I'm gutted I wanted to finish. I wanted to prove older women could do it".

I’m A Celebrity is available to watch on ITVX.
